Organizational structure – The Board is composed of seven members appointed by the Governor, who serve on a part-time basis and are paid on a per diem basis.

 

Mission

 

The Board’s mission is to decide personnel appeals of state managers and confidential employees, which groups are ineligible for collective bargaining.  Appeals can involve such issues as dismissal, suspension, demotion, denial of promotion, lay off and claimed misapplication of a specific state personnel statute or regulation.

 

Improvements/Achievements 2004-05

 

The Board is current with all appeal hearings and there is no backlog.

 

Planning

 

The Board is reviewing possible needed changes in its regulations.  It will commence indexing cases beginning with present cases.
