DAS Procurement - Environmentally Preferred Purchasing

Welcome to Connecticut’s Environmentally Preferable Purchasing (EPP) Program home page.

This page provides access to state contracts that feature environmentally preferable products and services. The site also includes a list of state statutes and policies that support and guide environmentally preferable purchasing efforts in Connecticut.  The general information section provides background information, including a description of the EPP Program and an explanation of state contracts.

What are Environmentally Preferable Products?

Environmentally Preferable Products are products or services that have a lesser or reduced effect on human health and the environment when compared with competing products or services that serve the same purpose.  Such products or services may include, but are not limited to, those which contain recycled content, minimize waste, conserve energy or water, and reduce the amount of toxins disposed of or consumed.
