Do I need to register my company before participating in the bid process?

Connecticut does not have any registration requirements in order for a company to participate in the competitive procurement process, except for those contracts which have been set-aside for certified Connecticut small and minority business enterprises, and public construction contracts exceeding $500,000.

In the case of competitive procurements with set-aside requirements, suppliers must have the required SBE/MBE certification at the time of the solicitation due date.

For any state or municipal public construction contracts, suppliers must be prequalified by the Department of Administrative Services before they can bid on any construction, alteration, remodeling, repair or demolition of any public building, estimated to cost more than $500,000 and which is funded in whole or in part with state funds.

(Refer to the Supplier Diversity Program and Contractor Pre-Qualification for eligibility requirements of these programs.)
